It used to be the AKA-eraser manufacturer in the Hallerstrasse in Hannover. It was one of the oldest eraser manufacturer and is known as a pioneer of erasers as a branded article. The factory produced erasers from 1893 to 1999.

After the destruction by the air raids in Hanover during WW II the manufacture in the old location was rebuilt and expanded to an enterprise with world-wide export trade . The factory was closed in 1999.

The property in Hallerstrasse was bought in 1978 by dipl. engineer Czaba Czako. After cleaning the remains of the factory, he started making plans for a hotel. On  March 1st, 1981, the „Hotel am Funkturm“ opened in Hallerstrasse 34.

The restaurant located in the ground floor was leased and the Ristorante "Milano". Scenes fort he Mario Adorf production „Der große Bellheim“ were shot here.

In 1999 one more building was attached to Friesenstrasse as well as an underground parking lot. The pillars of the eraser factory have been integrated in the construction oft the breakfast room and one oft he conference rooms.

Our family business exists for over 30 years and is led in 2nd generation. We would like to offer an ideal home in a unique atmosphere to business and private travellers alike.
